My 16GB SPARKLE INTEL ARC A770 TITAN OC has the described coil whistling only in one game. I had the PC built a year ago. I have checked that the GPU and cables are in good condition. Drivers are always up to date.
As I said, the whistling occurs strongly in one game, in which I have tried to throttle the performance of the GPU, including the FPS.
Without success, the problem still occurs at 40 FPS, I have reduced the power to 180 watts. The noise is slowly getting louder.
I play other games that are more intensive for the GPU, where the noise is less noticeable.
Nothing can be heard in the Furmark benchmark either.
Can anyone help me please?
Thanks for your help

Hello Morfl,
The sound identified is coil whining, which is a sound that happens when vibration of the coil happens in the inductor. This usually happens when the graphics card is running a workload at a high frame rate. Even if you can hear the noise, this should not damage the card or affect functionality. This can happen on other graphics card products depending on components and design, but there are steps that can be taken to reduce the sound intensity. Some recommendations include:
- Capping the FPS to the refresh rate of the monitor or lower
- Enabling V-Sync
- Double checking the power supply efficacy
- Reduce GPU throttling/overclocking
If there is an extreme case of noise and the recommendations do not help, please let me know.
Best regards,

Hello Randy,
I have tried that, but even at 30 FPS and 60 HZ, for example, I have the loud noise, cable and card are stuck.
I have activated V-Sync. I can now rule out everything else.
The problem comes from the coils, I filmed it and it is very audible!
The application where it is loudest runs at about 140FPS, should not be a problem for this GPU.
I have ruled out errors as I have read the Intel guide

Hello@Morfl
Since the issue was not resolved by the troubleshooting steps, I can rule out that this card is faulty and needs to be replaced. In this case, kindly contact Sparkle for warranty options. Please be advised that for warranty claims, you should contact the place of purchase directly. The Intel® Arc three-year limited warranty applies to eligible Intel® Arc Cards that are packaged in authentic Intel packaging and sold to end customers as standalone components.
If your Intel® Arc Card was purchased as part of an OEM system, it is subject to the OEM manufacturer's warranty and is generally not supported directly by Intel.
