Can't access WebUI on HP dc7900

Hi!

I tried to get AMT working on a HP dc7900. I changed password in MEBx and I'm able to login to MEBx with the new password.
My problem: I can't access AMT's WebUI.

I open http://:16992 in firefox and I get the http auth form. As username i use 'admin' and as password the pw that works on MEBx.
The response is "Log on failed. Incorrect user name or password, or user account temporarily locked."

Any help would be appreciated.

regards, Michael

Hello,
Another user recently had a similar issue that was related to non-US keyboard. Take a look here.
The MEBx only interprets input as if it isfrom a US keyboard.

Hi Michael,

Have you changed any of the other values in the MEBx besides the password? The system has to be fully configured in Small Business Mode before you can access the WebUI. Simply setting the MEBx password isn't sufficient for the WebUI to work. You must set the manageability mode and you have to set the AMT host name. I forget exactly what other fields are actually required for the system to be considered to have completed configuration. Normally, I just use a USB key to provision the system and use the DTK Director to configure them. It's a lot faster to simply insert a USB and boot the system than it is to walk all through the MEBx submenus and configure the needed settings, IMHO.

Roger

Hi!

Thanks for the help.

My Problem is solved, but I don't know how I managed it to work. I unprovisioned AMT on the machine and set it up the same way as yesterday and now it works.

Here's what changed beside AMT provisioning:
*) The machine has now a DNS entry, its hostname + domain in AMT settings matches its FQDN
*) I changed the AMT PW after provisioning the machine yesterday.

Could that affect behaviour of AMT's WebUI?

Glad it is working for you now.
If you were using the FQDN to try to connect with WebUI then the DNS would be needed.
It is possible that your machine was not fully provisioned before or that the Admin password no longer matched the MEBx pasword.

that the Admin password no longer matched the MEBx pasword.

Ok, so the WebUI admin's PW won't change when I change the PW in MEBx? I wasn't aware of this...

thanks, Michael
