Why no support for face-person-detection-retail-0002 any longer?

Hi,

 

We are looking for a dual person and face detector and the model 'face-person-detection-retail-0002' would have been ideal for this. However, you don't seem to support this beyond 2019_R1.

 

We were wondering why you stopped supporting this model. Was it not accurate enough, it didn't work very well? Or what other reason. Thank you for your help,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

 

The face-person-detection-retail-0002 is an older model from OpenVINO™ Toolkit Open Model Zoo 2019_R1 version and it is no longer available in the newer OpenVINO™ releases. Refer to this GitHub thread for more information.

 

Alternative models for face-person-detection-retail-0002 are as follows: 

 

 

Additionally, I'd suggest you to try the Smart Classroom C++ Demo which performs facial recognition, person detection and also action recognition. Moreover, you can create your own face gallery for the demo to recognize individual face on a frame as mentioned here.

Thank you for your reply, although I am sure you realize that repeating back to me what I had already told you is not terribly useful. In my earlier message I already mentioned that we are aware of the fact that face-person-detection-retail-0002 is an older model and the last OpenVINO version it was part of was the 2019_R1 one. However, we would really need this model. With fully understanding that you do not support it any longer, could you still possibly provide us with a link where we could download it from.
