Hi,

I have a question about the Cyclone 10 FPGA Part Number 10CL010YU144I7G,
because for my prototype i have to solder the FPGA pins manually.

What can happen when the FPGA is powered by power pins but the Exposed Pad is not connected to ground ?

Is there a risk to have permanent damage or just malfunctioning in this condition ?
For how much current may it work ?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting Intel community.

The exposed pad is a ground pad that must be connected to the ground plane on your PCB and it is used for electrical connectivity, and not for thermal purposes. Failing to solder the exposed pad to ground will cause the device to hold in a reset state and all types of configuration modes will fail.

Kindly refer to Cyclone 10 LP pin connection guidelines.
