Hi everyone,

I am studying how to implement a particular algorithm on FPGA and my professor gave me this board (DE5-Net with Stratix V) and I am struggling to understand if I can use any universality program software from Intel to program this FPGA using OpenCL. Is there anyone that can help me? Thanks for the help.

Hi,

You are running into the same problem I ran into. The free version of Quartus (Quartus Lite) does not support the Stratix V. In the end, I asked my professor to ask Altera/Intel to donate a license to the University for Quartus Standard/Pro with the corresponding OpenCL and other tools. It tooks about two weeks, but in the end, it was granted. I suggest you do the same and ask your professor to reach out to Altera/Intel...
