IF 7.1 and Type Delcaration statements with c-lists

Does IF 7.1 not support the compaq extension of c-lists?

type [[,att]... ::] v [/c-list/] [,v [/c-list/]]...

example:

REAL pi/3.14159/

I get Error 247:: This entity cannot be in a DATA statement object list.

Any thoughts?
