switch from trial to proper license

Hello,

I have ifort v10 installed on a x86-64 machine running ubuntu. All works fine so I bought a license. Now it is not clear to me how to switch the license number so I am not running the trial anymore.

Since it took quite a bit of fiddeling to get everything running under ubuntu, I do not want to reinstall.

Thanks, Jan

Log in to the Intel Registration Center and register your new serial number. It will email you a license file (or will give you the option to do so.) Look in /opt/intel/licenses and you will find a file with a .lic file type that is your trial license. Delete that and save the email text as a file in that directory with a name that has a .lic file type (the file name does not matter).

An alternative is to start a reinstall, select the option to enter a new serial number. When it gets to the point where it asks you what to install, exit.

Thanks Steve, I did not see the attachment!

Now I have to wrestle to get the MKL installed under ubuntu. Gulp.
It would be great if Intel would start supporting debian or ubuntu. I think it is widely used.

Cheers, Jan

Look for an update next month to support Debian and Ubuntu.
