I have Compac visual Fortran 6.6 running on XP professional SP1. Inside Developer Studio anumber of the popup menues, such as "Add to Project" under Project do not work. No popups appear. This is a new IBM T40 Centrino. The same Compac visual Fortran 6.6 works fine on my old IBM A31P with XP Professional.
Any thoughts?

I would suggest an uninstall and reinstall. That's a symptom I haven't seen reported before.

Do you have a project open when you are doing this? Is this a project you copied over from another system?
Try deleting the file with the .OPT file type in the project folder and restarting Developer Studio.

Non of the popups with or without a project open. I have created a entirely new project on the new system, but the popups dont work from the start. Normaly you have a popup 'recent workspaces' that works on start up but not on this system. Everything except the popups work. the compiler is fine and I can build and run and debug, just without any popups.

As for "Reload last workspace at startup", it is not checked as default. You have to go to Tools / Options... / Workspace and check for it.

I guess I am confused as to what you mean by a "popup" in this context. I thought you meant that none of the menu items worked.

Does Tools/Customize/Reset all menus help?
