A 2020-era 11th gen HP Pavilion x360 laptop has become unusable (fatal power problem) - it contains an Intel Optane H10 32gb/512gb NVMe M.2 primary SSD drive (Intel PN HBRPEKNX0202AH) whose backup is 4 months out of date and we need to rescue some data. We have tried an external SSD enclosure plugged into a Thunderbolt USB-C port on a new 13th gen HP Envy laptop without Optane or RST, and although it sees the drive it doesn't see any content and doesn't even see the correct size of the drive. Neither does the Intel Memory & Storage GUI Tool. We also tried the USB-A port and a different external enclosure, with no success. Is there any way to get the data off this older combo SSD? Thanks!

Hello, CB-TX.
Thank you for posting on the Intel Customer Support forums.
I received your thread regarding the Optane drive not being recognized , and I will be reviewing this with you.
The use of adapters or enclosures is not supported/recommended, but you can try connecting the drive directly to a motherboard that is Optane H Series compatible as a secondary drive, and the files may be able to be accessed that way, but here are no official data recovery steps or tools we can provide.
With this being an OEM system you also have the option to contact the system manufacturer to check if there are any options they can offer you, or to contact a data recovery company if recovering the information is detrimental:

If you have any questions, please let me know, and I will follow up April 6th.

Hello, CB-TX.
This post is to inform you about the closure of this support ticket.
I previously shared that the use of adapters or enclosures is not supported/recommended, but you can try connecting the drive directly to a motherboard that is Optane H Series compatible, or to check with the system manufacturer if there are any ways to recovery the system or the information, with the possibility of contacting a data recovery company if recovering the information is absolutely necessary.
The thread will be closed right now, and it will no longer be monitored by Intel support, but if you require any type of assistance from Intel in the future, just open a new thread, or contact us using any of the available support methods:
