No. The Evo 960 is an NVMe SSD. As best I understand, optane memory only works with SATA drives. They can be SSD, SSHD, HDD, 2.5", 3.5", M.2, but must be SATA.

Hello dekoer,

Thank you for your interest in the Intel® Optane™ Memory.

As community member CMorales kindly pointed out, the Intel® Optane™ Memory is designed to only accelerate SATA-based storage media (the performance benefit will be greater on slower storage devices like an HDD), so it does not support NVMe* drives (hence the "unsupported system disk" error message).

For more information, please check the Intel® Optane™ Memory FAQ (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/architecture-and-technology/optane-memory-faq.html https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/architecture-and-technology/optane-memory-faq.html).

Regards,
