Hi DBult,

Thank you for your contact to Intel® SSD support group with your request for support for your Intel® Optane™ Memory Series 32GB, M.2 80mm PCIe 3.0, 20nm, 3D Xpoint™.

Optane memory is based on the usage model, the low priority/Cold files will be deleted automatically by RST driver making space for storage. When Optane memory is full, RST will take care of those files in a way the user does not need to worry about it.

Please refer to the following link to find additional details: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000029020/memory-and-storage.html

·        Why does the Module Usage graph and table in the Pinning section of the Intel® Optane™ memory and Intel® Optane™ Memory and Storage Management applications only show a portion of the overall capacity of my module?

1.      To provide the best possible user experience, a portion of the module is specifically reserved for the most accessed content/system files and user pinned content. It uses the logic of the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) driver. This is the capacity shown in the “Module Usage” graph and table.

2.      The rest of the module’s capacity is used in the background by the Intel® RST driver to store OS frequently accessed data for accelerating system performance and improving applications’ responsiveness. Since this portion of the module’s capacity is used for this purpose, it is not shown in the “Module Usage” graph and table.

Might you have any doubts or additional inquiries, please let us know at once.

We will be looking forward to your reply.

Best regards,

Unfortunately it doesn't to me.

So if you'd be so kind as to actually tell me what the reason is, i'd be much obliged.
