How to preserve compilation results?

Back to modem Quartus from Xilinx side.

I found my compiled status doesn't seem to be up-to-date inside Quartus Tasks Pane (no green tick, 16.1, 18.1) every time I try to open a report, Quartus starts over the "Compile Design".

I guess compiled results are on disk. But it's inconvenient to locate for new user.

I was expecting all results from previous successful compile are kept for review.

Please comment.

May I know what edition(Pro/Standard) of the software you are using?

Same thing for me in 16.1 and 16.1 Standard Edition.

Thanks for reply, I recreated a new project and found no such issue. I am sure it's something run with my current project configurations, but it's not that important. I will close this question
