Have you updated your licence since you upgraded?
I'm just wondering if you need a new licence for the higher version of Modelsim.- Mark as New

If you have a valid license, then the upgrades are usually supported on that license. 2. You wrote that the variables are checked. Do you mean that they are set correctly in the Environment Variables? Check if any paths to directories get changed. 3. Are you using the correct license port? 4. What are the results of lmdiag lmutil?

Hi all,
thanks for your comments. @batfink and @vizziee We have a full floating license. QII 8.1 recognizes this without Problem. We do not need updated our licence it is valid. @vizziee Nr.2 I do and found nothing. Nr.3 Yes Nr. 4 the LMTOOLS found ther server an License. LMUTIL LMDIAG say: ... FLEXlm error: -10,32 For further information, refer to the FLEXlm End User Manual available at "www.macrovision.com". But i did not found anything Thanks Mikuman- Mark as New

Hi,
I had the same problem and eventually solved it.- Inside the license file there might be paths to old binaries (I don't know, if these had anything to do with the problem but they pointed to my 7.2 version...)
- when using LmTools, you have to stick to the 8.1 version and under the tabular "Config Services" you have to update the "Path to lmgrd.exe file" so a new version of the lmgrd.exe is used at windows startup.

If you have a full floating licence which presumably you've paid for I would beat up your supplier and/or Mentor and get them to fix it. That's what you pay them for after all.

The problem was now nevertheless simple.
If one it knows. We need a new FLEXLM server. https://www.altera.com/support/software/download/daemons/dnl-lic_daemons.jsp?gsa_pos=3&wt.oss_r=1&wt.oss=flexlm (https://www.altera.com/support/software/download/daemons/dnl-lic_daemons.jsp?gsa_pos=3&wt.oss_r=1&wt.oss=flexlm) Thanks to all! Hi All,
I am having the same problem but I am using a node-locked license. lmutil lmdiag says that it is the correct node for the license. I don't see any entries in the license file for modelsim, though. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit and Quartus II runs fine, it is just ModelSim that does not start. Any input would be appreciated. I already tried MGLS_LICENSE_FILE, LM_LICENSE_FILE in both the SYSTEM and USER Environment Variables, I also already tried the original altera license name and also just license.dat. I also tried / and \ in the path. RAUL- Mark as New

Unfortunately the licensing problem is also there with ModelSim 6.1g for Quartus 8.0 too.
Is anybody using ModelSim-Altera (non-Web) on Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit?
