Are there any plans to fix the GUI interface for MegaWizard Plug in Manager so that the contents of the dialog fit in the dialog box without resizing. The 'Cancel', 'Back', 'Next' and 'Finish' buttons are off the screen - You can only see the tops of them. This makes the plugin look VERY unprofessional and annoying to use.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I am running Quartus Prime Version 24.1std0 Build 1077 03/04/2025 5C Lite Edition. When I click the About button in MegaWizard, it just gives me the Quartus Prime information.

May I know which device and Quartus version you are using?
The MegaWizard Plug-In Manager is an older IP parameter editor GUI, typically used with legacy devices in Quartus Lite/Standard.
As you may or may not be aware, Quartus Lite/Standard is currently in maintenance mode. Therefore, the likelihood of any enhancements being implemented is very low.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

o are you telling me that to get a professional looking product, I have to pay for it. It seems unfair to charge for the tools to program the hardware on the development board. Is Altera not making enough money on the chips and development boards, that they have to charge again for the software to actually do anything with them?

Hi,
I don't understand some comments. Megawizard window is opened in most recent Quartus 24.1 Std/lite when you e.g. click RAM: 1-PORT in IP catalog. So no matter if it's possibly planned to be obsoleted, it's part of present Quartus GUI.
I however don't see an actual problem here. @mevenson is apparently complaining about default window layout after opening Megawizard. The behaviour isn't specific to Windows 11. Window size is a few percent below full size for RAM IP, but you can enlargen it easily. Initial window layout may look different depending on display resolution and character size, it's probably not tested with all possible resolutions.
I remember cases where you had difficulties to reach necessary buttons at all, but not with recent Quartus versions.
Regards
Frank

Frank,
Thanks for responding. What specifically do you not understand about the comments I made? In my initial post, I show a screen shot of the windows after it opened and it clearly shows that the vertical size of the window is not large enough to display the buttons on the bottom of the window without resizing. My screen resolution is 3840 X 2160 on a 28" BENQ monitor with the scaling factor set to 150%. When I set the scaling factor to 100%, it has the same problem, so it is not scaling that is the issue.
I realize that I can resize the window after it opens, but in a well designed GUI, I should not have to. My question to the developers of the wizard is - will this be fixed any time soon?

Hi OP,
Unfortunately, this issue will not be fixed. When I mentioned that the Lite/Standard editions are in maintenance mode, it means no new features will be added in the future.
Only fixes for issues that block the design process—such as internal or fatal errors—will be provided (if no workaround is available).
For example, if you encounter a fatal or internal error during compilation, you can search the Knowledge Database (KDB) for similar issues. If no workaround is available, we will escalate the issue to the tool specialists for further investigation and provide a workaround or fix.
However, if a workaround exists to resolve the issue, no fix will be provided. (In Quartus Pro, such issues are fixed regardless of workaround availability.)
In your case, the issue does not block or hinder your design process and can be resolved by manually resizing the window. Since a workaround is available and the issue is not critical, no fix will be provided.
I understand your disappointment and appreciate your feedback on improving the tool’s usability and professional appearance.
Due to resource constraints, our focus is primarily on the Quartus Pro edition. If you have any feedback regarding Quartus Pro, please feel free to reach out to us—we would be glad to look into it.
Thank you for your understanding.
Regards,
Richard
