Out of memory compiling Arria V design in Quartus II 11.1 (32-Bit)

Does anyone know the minimum memory requirement for compiling Arria V family designs in Quartus II? I consistently get the following errors when fitting, even for the simplest single component designs: 

 

Error (114016): Out of memory in module quartus_fit.exe (1611 megabytes used) 

Error (293007): Current module quartus_fit ended unexpectedly 

 

A similar discussion for the Stratix V family (#30271) suggests that the minimum requirement is probably around 3GB, but does anyone know for sure (or know where to find out this info)?

They say 8GB to 12 GB for the different Arria V devices. 

 

and 12GB to 28 GB for the different Stratix V devices.
