Quartus II failing to install

Trying to install Quartus II via

altera.com/download/software/quartus-ii-we

(Windows installer) isn't working for me.

The installer halts as soon as it completes the "Arria GX Family" and Windows intervenes, looking for a solution.

If I don't include the "Arria GX Family," it gives a pop-up box saying there were 2 errors and 0 warnings when it's supposed to start on the "Arria II GX Family"

I'm running a relatively new install (2-3 months) of Windows 7 x64.

Has anyone dealt with a problem like this one before, and did you find a solution?

My solution was to use the school computers. Not much of a solution, I know.

I had trouble installing initially. Once I disabled my antivirus (I'm using AVG) it worked fine. Not sure if this your problem but it might be worth a try.

I also hat trouble with the install process.

Always i tried to install the software to C:\Programme\... the error occurs.

Then i tried to install the software to the default folder: "C:\altera\%version%\..." everything works fine.

So for me the Solution was to install the software to the default folder.

If you are attempting to install version 10.0 make sure you have any anti-virus programs closed as well. It would be a good idea to install any version with the security software disabled but 10.0 was especially problematic this way.
