Trying to install Quartus II via
altera.com/download/software/quartus-ii-we (Windows installer) isn't working for me. The installer halts as soon as it completes the "Arria GX Family" and Windows intervenes, looking for a solution. If I don't include the "Arria GX Family," it gives a pop-up box saying there were 2 errors and 0 warnings when it's supposed to start on the "Arria II GX Family" I'm running a relatively new install (2-3 months) of Windows 7 x64. Has anyone dealt with a problem like this one before, and did you find a solution?Link Copied

My solution was to use the school computers. Not much of a solution, I know.

I had trouble installing initially. Once I disabled my antivirus (I'm using AVG) it worked fine. Not sure if this your problem but it might be worth a try.

I also hat trouble with the install process.
Always i tried to install the software to C:\Programme\... the error occurs. Then i tried to install the software to the default folder: "C:\altera\%version%\..." everything works fine. So for me the Solution was to install the software to the default folder.- Mark as New

If you are attempting to install version 10.0 make sure you have any anti-virus programs closed as well. It would be a good idea to install any version with the security software disabled but 10.0 was especially problematic this way.
