Quartus run's to completion, but at the end of the run the GUI freezes up and has to be killed.
I have a design that contains several NIOS cores and DDR4 controllers. Until recently I there was only a single DDR4 controller(EMIF). After adding three more DDR controllers the builds rarely finish. I start a build in the GUI and it goes thru Analysis, Fitter, Assembler, Timing Analysis, EDA Netlist Writer. And then it hangs. The output directory shows all the expected result files, including the .done file. The report files do not report any errors. But the GUI is frozen and I have to kill it. A bitfile is created and it seems functional. When I start SignalTap the probes are all there but it indicates that recompile is required. Running again gets the same result. I can use the bitfile run signal tap, trigger and see traces. I have deleted the db and incremental_db directories without a change in behavior. Since I changed to 17.0.2 I get lots of Internal errors with all kinds of sources for the errors. I often get 3 or 4 more internal errors after sending the report to Altera. I have reached to point where I ALWAYS delete the db and incremental_db directories because the chance of completing a build is near 0 if I dont. Hi,
Can you try to upgrade your CentOS to version 7.3 kde? Please note that it must be kde as Q17.0.2 only support kde for 7.3. Thanks, Best regards, kentan (This message was posted on behalf of Intel Corporation)- Mark as New

1) Try reinstall the Quartus (make sure all the device was installed)
2) cd to home/<user>/.altera.quartus rename the quartus2.ini and quartus2.req for linux and reopen the quartus. this will reset the initial setting of the quartus prime. Best regards, kentan (This message was posted on behalf of Intel Corporation)
