In the past, I used ModelSim for functional simulation.
I just started to use Quartus Lite v.23. During the EDA Tool Settings, do I choose QuestaSim or Questa Intel FPGA?
How do I launch Questa from Quartus?
May I have the link to the documentation on how to use Questa?
Thank you.

You may refer to the document linked below for instructions on how to set up and use Questa. It also includes an example design that you can follow.

Thanks for the link.
Last time when I used ModelSim, I used wave window to do the simulation. Is this still possible with the Questa?
I still couldn't find out where to launch the Questa if I'm not using testbench. Can you tell me the path to open Questa directly?
Thank you.

Questa is very similar to ModelSim so yes to your first question.
Assuming you are talking about the version installed with Quartus, it would be available in the Start menu along with Quartus, unless you did not install it. It is an optional install on top of Quartus.

I can find it in the Start menu (below), but when I click on it, nothing appear.
I have already set the following in the EDA Tool Settings:

The given link is for v. 21.1. The instruction for EDA Tool Setting is different for v. 23.1

QuestSim is the full version from Siemens. If you are using the included Questa with Quartus, it should be Questa Intel FPGA.

Nothing happens? May be a bad installation or something else.

Like I said, if absolutely nothing is happening when you try starting it from the Start menu, you may have a bad installation. Just try uninstalling and reinstalling.

There are a few things that you can troubleshoot:
- Ensure that your Operating System is supported. Window 11 is not officially supported. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/programmable/support-resources/design-software/os-support.html#tab-blade-1-1
- Check your system resources, including memory, CPU usage, and disk space. Make sure you have enough available resources
- If you are running antivirus software, try to temporarily any antivirus or firewall software, as they may be interfering with the software.
- Try restarting Questa and your computer. This can help clear any temporary issues that may be causing the error.
- Run Questa as administrator. Make sure all your folder are not in read-only options.
- You may install currprocess https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/cprocess.html and disable all the software running behind in the background.

Thanks Richard.
Sorry that I couldn't login earlier with my institution account, I attempted many times, still failed.
Eventually, I used my gmail to create another account.
Since I'm using Windows 11, so I am now using v.20.1 with ModelSim.
