Hi,
when i click the "Import"-Button on the NIOS II - Processor - Custom-Instructions page my SOPC-Builder hangs up. The Button appears pressed, nothing happens and i have to shutdown the SOPC-Builder via Task-Manager. My OS is Windows Vista and i am using QII 10.0 SP1. Is this a known problem? Has anyone an idea? Regards PaddyLink Copied

Yes, I am also experiencing the same problem. I am also running 10sp1 (yet I had the same problem in 10). I've tried endless permutations trying to resolve this, and no matter what I do, as soon as I click on "Import..." on the Custom Instruction page, SOPC Builder hangs. The only "fix" is to kill the SOPC Builder process. Some things I've tried:
- both the Linux version and PC version of Quartus10sp1 - all three NIOS2 processor cores. - tried a clean new project (no spaces in the directory tree) - tried Altera-provided sample projects This is most frustrating, and would welcome suggestions. Thank you, Peter- Mark as New

I recommend creating your custom instructions using component editor directly and then connect it to the CPU.
