Signal Tap Hierarchy Display (22.1std)

Dear support,

I am new with Quartus 22.1std. Using SignalTap, I found very annoying having to click select inside the Hierarchy Display every time, I changed view or make changes to the trigger signal.

Signals are not available in the view window (Data, Setup) unless a module is selected by its checkbox inside the Hierarchy Display. The selection is gone, if view by clicking Data or Setup, delete/add any signal to trigger.

I have never seen this in previous versions of Quartus.

Please let me know if there is something I have to do to make all signals visible.

Can you add a screenshot?  Not sure what checkboxes you are referring to.  After you add a signal to the Node List via the Node Finder, it should just be there in the list.

By right that should not be happening.

After selecting the node in node finder, you can see the signal added in the signal tab.

My example here, the first module (...TTP) got unselected automatically whenever I do anything on the data/trigger window.

Oh, that hierarchy display is basically useless.  You don't need to do anything with it.  It just shows where Signal Tap lives in your Quartus project hierarchy.

The trouble I have is I have to checkbox the entity within the Hierarchy Display to see signals (belongs to the entity).

Yes, turning those off will filter what you've added to the node list.  Just leave them on.  Not sure what the issue is.
