TimeQuest GUI takes long time when reading .sdc

Hi, 

 

 

Quartus 16.1 TimeQuest takes long time when reading .sdc file and generating reports. Before I have used some smaller Cyclone and MAX 10 device families and running TimeQuest tasks took just few seconds.  

 

 

Now I am working on project with Cyclone V GX device.  

"Read SDC File" task runs about 1 minute. 

"Update Timing Netlist" task runs about 3 minutes.  

 

 

Is this normal?

I get similar figures or worse with Q 16.1. It also takes 15 minutes or so to stop after issuing error messages. It is as slow as a camel.

And there is nothing to do about that? Project compilation takes near 40min and Timequest takes few minutes when reading sdc file and generating reports. It is complete waist of time...

How complex is your design and how complex are your constraints? It could just be your design.
