What is mean of Trigger Conditions when using SignalTap II logic analyzer?

Before I use SignalTap II logic analyzer, I need to define trigger conditions for all pins I want to watch. What is the mean of this trigger conditions? Does that mean when the specific condition of a pin is meet, then the signal in that pin will be recorded? Otherwise, the signal changes in that pin will not show in logic analyzer?

Thanks very much.

First of all, not everyone browses the forums at all times, so you may need to wait a while for a response.

Trigger conditions are the conditions required to trigger a download of captured signals to the PC. ALL conditions must be met simultaneously to trigger this. All signals are constantly recorded, so the triggers will download all signals. This allows you to check the state of all signals when trigger occurs.

Thanks very much, Tricky. Sorry, I am just a little hurried in this question.

I am still a little confused. Does that mean without trigger, although all the signals are recorded, I still can't watch them since they are not download to PC? If I set the trigger condition as don't care, what will happen? Will the signals will be download to PC all the time

since the condition is always met?

Thanks again!

If you dont set a trigger (eg, all signals set to dont care) it will just download whatever is in the buffer right now. THere is also a "continuous button" that will keep downloading every time a trigger occurs. With dont cares set here, it just continuously downloads (but its not real time, as it takes time to reset).
