compiling quartus II verilog libs for vcs mx ...

hi,

i was trying to compile verilog libs for arria10 fpga family for simulation with vcs-mx.

i read online that the vcs-mx tool supported by quartus ii 64-bit version 15.0.0 build 145 is vcs/vcs-mx 2014.03-sp1 for linux.

when i do a $which vcs in my linux terminal, i get the following -

/tools/synopsys/vcs-mx_vI-2014.03-SP1/amd64/bin/vcs

now i use tools -> launch simulation libraries compiler to compile the libraries. when i specify the vcs-mx executable location, i get an error saying - executable cannot be found!!!

please refer attached screenshot (screenshot-4.png)

The nativelink report also says it cannot locate vcs-mx (no other error message)

when i go to tools -> options, i ensure that i have specified the proper path for vcs-mx there as well (refer screenshot altera_EDA_tools_options.png)

I also tried simulating a design from within quartus by switching over to modelsim-altera (in Assignments -> settings -> EDA tools for sim -> modelsim-altera)

however when I run the rtl simulation, i get an error saying the license cannot be located for modelsim-altera!

since this is a new installation of altera, please let me know in case this is a compatibility issue for vcs-mx or if i need to set some paths/env variables?

i am running on a rhe 6 machine.

thanks in advance!

z.
