how to estimate power

hi! 

I use the Quartus II 6.1 in my work 

Ineed to estimate the power of a program implanting on the FPGA (Altera Startix) 

my projet was composed on two parts (software and hardward) so I need the power of tow parts of projet  

when using "powerplayer poweranalyser tool"in the quartus II I estimate only hardware part 

what can I do?

does the "software part " means NIOSII C code? 

if yes, it only influent the hardware logic toglling rate. 

so you can just set proper toggle rate in Powerplayer, so you can get the whole power.
