simulation issues with quartus 9.0sp2

when i create a block diagram for example (AND gate) i try to simulate it.which the nodes pins where not there. So, this is what i did i went to file -> vector waveform files then i went to view-> node finder to find the pins. And they are not there and it says no nodes available Run analysis. So my question is what is the problem.
