Can we get a step-by-step SPL build process?

I notice there's a lot of people on this forum that are struggling to get the RocketBoards bootloader build to work properly for Intel HPS parts, and almost all of the threads end without a good solution. This is getting ridiculous since booting the processor is a fundamental step in being able to use the SoC.

Can we please have an official, idiot proof, step-by-step guide complete with a golden reference design, right here in this forum? Here's what is required:

1) Specify exactly which host OS version to install.

2) Specify exactly what tools/versions need to be installed on the host OS (think fresh OS install with nothing else on it).

3) Step by step guide on what to do in Quartus to generate required files. Exactly what to click, exactly what to type, in the correct order. Link to a golden reference design on github if needed and please do not simply refer to other tutorials or guides (all steps here in one place).

4) Step by step guide on what to type into host OS terminal to generate SPL.

I think Intel owes this to all its customers who took a chance on using their parts.

Hi rdb9878

My apologies that the RocketBoard Articles are not user friendly.

Could you please advise what devkit you are currently using and at what point you are facing any problem thus far?

I could help out with the problem you have currently and feedback to the author and make the changes to the guide.

Recently RocketBoard have make slight changes to the layout and you could find the current step-by-step guide to build the SPL, Uboot and Linux rootfs in the link below separated base on devkit.

There are 2 main categories: CycloneV/Arria10 and Stratix10/Agilex. Under the Bootloaders section

https://www.rocketboards.org/foswiki/Main/GettingStarted

In the introduction you could find the tested Quartus Prime Version in the "Introduction" and the host environment details in the "Prerequisites" section.

So the guide is specific to 22.1 Std. Where are the instructions for older versions?

Hi

Do you have a version that you are currently working with?

You could get the older revision of the article on the top right .

This require to create an account with Rocketboard to view previous revision.
