Custom build with full vPro / KVM support

Hello,

If I were interested in building a computer from scratch, how would I select a motherboard, processor, and graphics combination that would give me full vPro & KVM support? Are there any vPro 6.0 motherboards available? How does processor selection interfere with the resulting capabilities of vPro technology?

Good question. For vPro: The quick answer is that the Intel DQ57TM & the Asus P7Q57-M DO boards support vPro. Basically you need the Q57 chipset, but I would personally look for the vPro logo. For the CPU you need a core i5-670, 660,650 or i7-870,860,860-s.

For KVM Remote Control you have to use Intel Graphics. So, be sure the motherboard & CPU support that option. I believe in the desktop space that all i5s supoprt graphics, while i7s do not.

I've build a system with the TQ57TM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813121400 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813121400 + i5 650

System works great for KVM as the MB has AMT 6.0 (I used VNC+ as KVM software -- kinda' slow. I shall try the Radmin to see if it's faster - at least this is what Radmin says on their site)
