HP 2510p vPro not showing up

Hi,

I'm setting up an HP 2510p laptop which should have vPro built in. Following HP's vPro instructions, I press F10 at boot and then go to the "System Configuration" menu. It then says to select "AMT Options", but AMT Options is not listed under my System Configuration. I've got a ticket open with HP and at the moment they want me to send the laptop in. I've got user who relies on it heavily, so I'd rather not. I'm curious if anyone else has had this problem and if there was a fix other than returning the system.

Thanks.

Have you tried updating to the latest BIOS version? It looks like it is F.0a according to the HP website: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=3355634&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=3355633&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=1093# 290

Yes, I have updated the BIOS. I've also tried updating AMT, but it says something to the effect of "can't get status" of the AMT. (Sorry, I don't have the system with me now to give the exact message.) It appears that the system doesn't see the vPro hardware at all. Thanks.

I hate to say this, but the problem was the model of 2510p. I had read that the 2510p was vPro enabled, but I did not realize that 5 of the 19 different 2510p models only come with the Core Duo processor. My system is one of those 5. Very disappointing.

Thanks for the help.

In the future, you can use the "Intel® vPro Technology Test Utility" to determine if your system is a vPro capable system:
