iAMT and Remote Boot to Boot Menu HowTo without VNC/KVM

I have been running an dell precision m6700 with activated iAMT 8.1.40

BIOS: SOL.on, IDE Redirect:on, Redirection Port: on)

KVM is not supported because the internal GPU is disabled by DELL.

I am using the latest "Manageability Commander Tool" from SDK.

Via context menu: "Take Control" the "Manageability Terminal Tool" is opened.

Disk Redirect Works fine

Remote Command Works also fine

I am able to modify the BIOS.

Question:

How can I come into the Windows START Menu of the iAMT Client?

If I use "Remote Reboot" or "Normal Reboot" the "Manageability Terminal Tool"

screen is black or blank.

With IPMI (other machine same windows version) is it possible to get the Windows Startmenu.

Thanks in advance

Thomas

In order to take control of graphic interface using vPro, you must have KVM enabled to to it.

thanks for reply

I am not an nativ english speaker,

but as already mentioned in the starter thread

I want to access the text console without kvm.

I have enabled kvm by the way.

But there is no sense for this, because KVM is not possible without internal GPU!

My GPU is disabled and I can't enable this feature. Is it locked by dell.

I want to use the same text console like the BIOS screen or the screen which appears

if I use Remote Command: Remote Reboot to Redirected CD ..

and I know that the console is only working in text mode via BIOS calls.

I mean this tool:

But the diffenrence is, that there is no Intel AMT Outpost agent on the AMT machine running, because the bootloader is starting.

I'm not sure that I'm following you.

Basically, SOL is enabled only on character mode and you are not able to get into GUI, during a normal reboot that you are connected using SOL you lost the interface as soon Windows starts. in order to enable SOL is not required any agent installed in operating system beside MEI driver and LMS that is already wrapped by OEM.

It seems it is a problem with OEM DELL BIOS or/and iAMT

After Remote Reboot my terminal screen is empty all time.
