The RealSense 400 Series cameras were designed with autonomous vehicles and drones in mind as possible use-cases. The cameras can depth-sense up to 10 meters (though depth accuracy may drift noticably after around 3 meters) and 'see' u to 65 meters with their default settings. For applications involving fast motion (whether the camera is moving or it is static and observing moving objects) the D435 model is most suitable, as it has a faster 'global' shutter than the D415's 'rolling' shutter.
