Does the Core Ultra 7 Processor 265K (Arrow Lake) support the user interrupts (UINTR) feature?

I want to check if the Core Ultra 7 Processor 265K or CPUs of Arrow Lake micro-architecture still support user interrupts.

I found that Arrow Lake micro-architecture based CPUs seem to support UINTR in the architecture-instruction-set-extensions-programming-reference document (Refer to: https://cdrdv2-public.intel.com/843860/architecture-instruction-set-extensions-programming-reference-dec-24.pdf).

But in the Intel 64 and IA-32 Architectures Software Developer's Manual, it seems that these CPUs do not support the user interrupts feature.

Does anybody know whether these CPUs currently support this feature?

Thanks!

Hello spearNeil,

Thank you for posting in Intel community Forum.

For me to further check this, please help provide the following details:

  1. When did you purchase this processor?
  2. Are you having issue with this unit?
  3. Can you tell me why do you need this feature?

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Hello Michael,

Thank you for your reply.

We have not purchased this processor yet. We are trying to do some research about user-space scheduling, and this user space interrupts feature facilitates our further optimization. So we're thinking about purchasing a machine that supports uintr. But the documents confuse me a lot.

I just want to update you that I am still checking this inquiry.

Since there are inconsistent information in the 2 screenshots that you provided, can you share the links of those documents for me to verify it?

Hello Michael,

Thank you for your reply.

I get the latter document (Intel 64 and IA-32 Architectures Software Developer's Manual) from (https://cdrdv2-public.intel.com/843827/253665-sdm-vol-1-dec-24.pdf).

Hi @spearNeil

Thank you for your patience. I can confirm that the ARL architecture supports the UINTR feature. However, there is no current support in Windows, Linux, Chrome for the feature.

I understand that this may not be the exact answer that you need in your research user-space scheduling and potential systems that support this technology.

Going into your potential purchase of systems. Intel does not sell direct to customers, therefore we are unable to provide specific pricing information or products that may suite your requirements. However, our Intel® Authorized Distributors are fully trained on our products, and will be able to provide pricing information and answer any questions you might have.

I'll proceed to close this case now. Feel free to create a new thread or contact Intel Customer Support if you require further assistance.
