I'd like to report the attempted sale of an Intel Engineering CPU to Intel. Someone tried to link this sale in our FORUM but I have removed the sale as I believe it is illegal:

I hope this helps!

Rick, I am fully versed in Intel ES Samples. Intel ES processors are the sole property of Intel. By that reckoning then someone is attempting to sell Intel property illegally which is why I reported it here. I just checked and it is still on ebay. Doesn't Intel want to prevent someone from stealing their property?
Hi Robert -
Thanks for your note. This issue has been referred to our corporate security team for their review.
Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
Have a great weekend,
Rick

This guy in Hong Kong is selling a number of Intel (ES) Engineering Sample X9000 mobile CPU's.
Here is a link to his eBay store and the particular sale in question.
P.S. This eBay seller is selling numerous other ES (Engineering Sample) CPUs as well.
P.S. 2 This seller appears to be using a second eBay user id to sell even more ES (Engineering Sample) CPUs.
See this link also.

Hi,
I have just realised I have been sold a laptop with an ES chip in it (according to SiSoft Sandra and your Processor Identification utility).
I have contacted the supplier in regards to this matter and I am assuming they will ask or me to ship the laptop back etc.
I wasn't sure whether I needed to also report this matter with you - should I be seeking any form of compensation for this sale (due to loss of laptop while I ship it back and then wait for the CPU to be replaced etc.)
I have attached an image of the output from the identification utility - it is a i7-3612QM CPU.
Best Regards,
Will
I have been cheated by this seller xtrememicro on ebay who sold me 2 engineering samples . I am surprised how blatantly he is operating. He has currently over a 100 ES CPUs listed for sale and must have sold thousands in the last year itself. The link to his ebay shop is http://www.ebay.com/sch/xtrememicro/m.html?_nkw=intel&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from= xtrememicro | eBay
Thank you very much for the report.
We strongly advise buying from Intel authorized sellers.
Brand new Intel products are not sold through auctions.
