What is the difference between Intel Core Ultra, Intel Core (non-Ultra), and the Intel Core i-series (like i9, i7, i5)?

I’m a bit confused by Intel's recent naming changes. I see new processors named Core Ultra 9/7/5, some still labeled just as Core 7/5, and others from the older i-series like i9-14900K still in use.

Could someone please explain:

How Core Ultra differs from Core (non-Ultra)?

Is the i-series being replaced or does it still have a role?

Which of these are for laptops vs desktops?

What are the main architectural or performance differences?
