i7 14700f issues

I'm thinking of upgrading my old PC processor from an i5-12400F to an i7-14700F, running on a Gigabyte Z690 UD DDR4 motherboard (with the latest BIOS).

I just have a few questions: Have the power consumption or heating issues been fixed, or are they still unreliable?

Hello killuaXD1337,

Thank you for your inquiry! Upgrading from an Intel® Core™ i5-12400F to an Intel® Core™ i7 processor 14700F is a superb choice for enchanced performance, especially with your motherboard.

Regarding your concern about power consumption and heating issues, rest assured that the Intel® Core™ i7 processor 14700F (33M Cache, up to 5.40 GHz) is not affected by the instability issues reported for some K-series processors. The F-series processors are not designed for overclocking, which minimizes the likelihood of such problems.

If you have further questions, please let me know

I look forward to your response!

Best Regards,

Thank you for this information as I'm looking to go through with a similar upgrade from the 13400f. With the i7-14700f would I need to update the bios of my gigabyte b760m-c w/ WiFi motherboard that I purchased a little over 5 months ago for this processor ?
