Hi, I seek informations about CPU electrical consumption. I don't find anything in the web. I look for for something like "benchmark" but for electrical consumption in severals uses (differents games, differents software (average web use, office softwares, media player, etc...) all things equal otherwise, of course.

Is there something like that somewhere in the web?

Did Intel already did the job to inform consumers and set a table of this?

Every processor page on http://ark.intel com details the processor's highest power consumption (TDP). Is this not what you are looking for?

I don't really understand what is a thermal power consumption (or dissipation) in Watt. What I seek is Electrical consumption not thermal.

You know, how many watt I need to make ce CPU work. It's to choice que proper CPU for my next laptop.

Please let me explain it this way: Is the TDP equal to the processor’s power consumption?

TDP stands for Thermal Design Power, in watts, and refers to the power consumption under the maximum theoretical load. Power consumption is less than TDP under lower loads. The TDP is the maximum power that one should be designing the system for. This ensures operation to published specs under the maximum theoretical workload.

TDP value shown in https://ark.intel.com under "CPU Specifications" section is the approximate power consumption of the processor when running at the base frequency. The public datasheets we have available will provide this information in the Power Management sections, but the easiest reference is going to be https://ark.intel.com
