Hello @Kailan
Thank you for posting on the Intel️® communities. We would be more than glad to help you with your issue.
While certain processors can handle higher temperatures, it's ideal to keep your CPU below 90°C for best performance and durability. Even if the i5 10300h can technically endure higher temperatures, consistently running your gaming laptop at such levels could lead to a shorter lifespan and potential instability.
Although you found information suggesting the processor's tolerance, remember that cooler laptop temperatures generally provide a better experience. Consider these steps:
Overheating Symptoms and Troubleshooting for Intel® Boxed Processors
· Ensure Adequate Ventilation: Keep airflow unobstructed for proper heat dissipation.
· Utilize a Cooling Pad: Enhance heat dissipation by using a cooling pad beneath your laptop.
· Regularly Clean Internals: Remove dust and debris that can block airflow and raise temperatures.
· Reapply Thermal Paste: Reapply thermal paste if comfortable; it degrades over time and affects heat transfer.
· Adjust In-Game Settings: Lowering graphics settings reduces strain on the CPU and GPU, curbing heat during gaming.
In summary, while the processor might handle high temperatures, it's wise to keep them below 90°C for long-term health. Employ strategies like cooling pads, cleaning, and adjusting settings to maintain safer temperatures.
Best regards,
Isaac Q.

If, under heavy load, you are seeing temperatures stay below 90c (except for very short duration spikes above 90c - but not to 100c), then yes, you should look forward to the processor lasting to or beyond the normal warranted lifetime.

Hello @Kailan and @n_scott_pearson
Thank you for your reply.
While we can't predict your laptop's exact lifespan, temperatures of 75-85°C during heavy tasks are acceptable. Cleaning and changing thermal paste enhance efficiency and longevity. Factors like component quality, maintenance, and usage also matter. Regular cleaning, ventilation, and avoiding extremes extend laptop life. No definite timeframe, but proper care should ensure reasonable longevity.
Best regards,
Isaac Q.

Having a similar issue. Running the same processor as OP. under load it hovers around 92C, and idle it tends to be in the 62-81 range
