I have an old 2006 Laptop Toshiba Satellite U205-S5057(12.1in),with Processor Intel CentrinoCore Duo,1.66 Ghz T5500.I recently installed- win 10 home- on my laptop,but it is runing slow.Requirements for RAM is to be 2GB,and it has 1GB.
So,my question is: - Is it possible the current Intel processor @ 1.66Ghz to be upgraded,replaced with more powerfull one,for this model of Toshiba Satellite U205-S5057 !

Only Toshiba (or whoever supports that laptop now) can tell you what processors are compatible with their bios, and that is only possible if the T5500 is not soldered to the motherboard. That processor supported two different sockets: one soldered, the other not.
Spending time and money on trying to upgrade such an old machine, in my opinion, is not worth the effort. And, any performance gain would be minimal.

I still have my U205-S5057 running, I use it as a back up (save my butt) computer when one of my faster laptops quit. I have upgraded to the Intel Core2- T7200 in mine. I've also got (2) Corsair VS2GSDS667D2 2GB DDR2 667 MHz (PC2 5300) Laptop Memory sticks ($25 each) for a total of 4gb, Win 7 works beautifully almost as good as my HP with 16gb of ram, but win 10 still is slower than molasses. Sadly 4gb is the most memory the u205 will take, I have two 4gb. memory sticks and the computer will work with one, but if I put the second one in, it will not boot. (The fans been running at ludicrous speed lately) so I'm currently cleaning up the cooling fan and heat sink, and replacing the cpu thermal paste, It's been 6 or 7 years since I opened it up I'm hoping that getting all the dust and dirt out will help improve performance. I'll give you an update when I fire it back up. The Core2 T7600 may be a little bit faster (2.33ghz vs 2.00ghz) but the price is $180 vs $45 for the T7200.
