Dont understand how this can happen,
I ordered a 14900k from Amazon and when i opened it it had a i3 12100 in it. Be aware .anyone else experience this?

I have heard of this happening before. Some slimebucket swaps the cheaper part into the packaging and returns it to Amazon. Amazon doesn't check it that closely and it goes back on the shelf and is sent to someone else, in this case you.
All you can do is return it to Amazon and have it replaced - but make sure you notify them that the wrong processor was in the package so they don't send it to someone else.

Im sure there's a way to track the sin number of the cput once its been verified with windows 10
