HI,

Can I use 8B10B IP (http://www.altera.com/literature/ug/ug_ed8b10b.pdf?gsa_pos=2&wt.oss_r=1&wt.oss=8b10b%20encoder/decoder) with QUARTUS 14 and MAX10 ?

THX,

Guy.

I presume you can. MAX 10 is effectively Cyclone IV core technology.

8b10b IP core is discontinued.

But you can refer to the Chapter 11 of the advanced synthesis cookbook (http://www.altera.com/literature/manual/stx_cookbook.pdf).

Source codes are available in the archive: www.altera.com/literature/manual/cookbook.zip (www.altera.com/literature/manual/cookbook.zip)

Just to add on, after implementing the 8b10b codes as per the cookbook, it is recommended to run through Quartus II compilation to check for any violation. After that, perform a functional simulation to verify the behavior of your code.
