Cyclone® V with QSPI flash S70FS01GS for storage

Hi Team,

we are planning to use the serial flash S70FS01GS with Cyclone V FPGA in our new design.

however, its mentioned that in Cyclone® V SoC and Arria® V SoC Supported Flash Devices | Intel  S70FS01GS flash is Incompatible due to Does not support RDSR instruction.

Also, it states that "The current list of tested and supported devices is presented below. Note that the device list applies only to the HPS Quad SPI controller, and does not apply for FPGA configuration."

Please let us know can we still go ahead and use this as mass data storage in our application. if so how support RDSR instruction is manageable.

Thank you.

Hi Puneeth_KB,

It is mentioned as incompatible in the list of QSPI flash devices table. Therefore it is not recommended to use or considered in the system design.

Thanks.
