I have a BeMicro-SDK. It has a EPCS16 on board. I can configure the FPGA through the JTAG and it works until the computer goes to sleep or any power issue is encountered. This is expected with internal ram.
What I want. I want to be able to put a JIC file on the EPCS16 so I can get my custom configuration loaded at power up. What I have done. I found instructions here.http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/welecw2000a/wiki/FPGAConfigFlash
Results I can backup the initial flash chip configuration and testing showed it was good. I tried adding a file to the project with extension JIC. I am not sure if Quartus II should actually give it data by default or if something else needs done. After compiling the project I can program FPGA as before but Programmer fails on programming flash device. After Many tries I started the programmer up not through quartus. So only the add file part added any hardware. Checked program and it finally did flash the flash memory. Hope this helps others.
