I am trying to get the Quartus programmer to recognize a new Ethernet Blaster II. The hardware setup won't see it if I select auto detect, and if I add it manually I get an authorization failure under the JTAG Settings tab in the Hardware Setup window. I can see the blaster when I browse to its IP address, so I know it's working, and I've installed the latest firmware update.
I am running Quartus 9.1SP2 under Windows XP Pro.Link Copied

If you know the IP address and its password, you can mannually add it.
Open Dos window, and type this jtagconfig --addserver ***.***.***.*** pasword *** is the IP address password is the password of the EB2's jtagserver There are 2 of "passwords" on the EB2. 1 is the password to get in the web interface of the EB2 1 is the password for the jtagserver. you need to enter this password for jtagserver on this command line then, type jtagconfig, the list of blasters should include the EB2- Mark as New

I remember making to do this. Firstly, You open "Run" dialog and type "cmd" command, Then type "ping *** *** ***" as you said?

Turns out, for whatever reason, the EB2 doesn't like you to leave the default password. Once I changed both the web interface and the jtag server passwords, it worked perfectly. Thanks for the help.

Your problem has nothing to do with the Ethernet blaster. Please stay in your own thread.
