FPGA replacement PNs for competitors device

Hi,

In some of our designs we are currently using Xilinx devices.  The lead times are too long.  We are looking at redesigning some of our products to use an alternate FPGA type.

What would be the closest Intel PN for the Spartan VI?

Industrial Temperature

LX9, LX25 in 256 package

LX45, 75 in 484 package

LX100 in 676 package.

Would be changing the design so most important would be IO, die size, speed as we can change the package etc.

Other pressing question - are the parts available.   No point if Intel is no better than Xilinx to supply.

Expecting Intel has a published matrix of this sort hiding somewhere.  If not perhaps a private version of the same.

Thank you.

If you go on any distributor website and check availability of Altera/Intel FPGA/CPLD devices you won't find any real difference from Xilinx. None in stock, 6+ month lead times. Pretty much across the board all semiconductor devices are severely supply constrained.

For Spartan 6, an Intel/Altera Cyclone IV or V is probably the closest equivalent.

Hello Keith,

Please give me sometime to check with our planner.

For what it's worth, by the time you finish migrating the FPGA design(s), completing verification, and redesigning the board(s), whatever lead time data you collect today will be irrelevant.
