Gigabit Ethernet with the Cyclone IV

I'm creating a dual-port gigabit ethernet board and am interested in the Cyclone IV's internal transceivers. Does the Cyclone IV require an external PHY? I figure it wouldn't but the Cyclone IV gigabit ethernet demo board they have available has a Marvell PHY on it. Also can the Cyclone IV support multiple ethernet ports?

Currently I have a Cyclone III with an eternal Marvell PHY and was hoping to save some board space with the IV.

Thanks!
