We have a board layout with minimal space available, and so I'm trying to minimise the component count in the design.
We are trying to use a 10M04SAM156 device and will be using the ADC feature. I understand that it is desireable to filter the analogue supplies (VCCA) as well as the VCCIO1A supply to minimise noise.
If we intend to use IO Bank 1A as analogue inputs only, and not as a digital IO, is there any downside to connecting VCCIO1A directly to VCCA? That way only one filter would be required (from the 3.3V digital supply to the VCCA analogue supply).
Hi Thomas
Thanks for your inquiry.
If we refer to Example 5 and Figure 5 of https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/programmable/us/en/pdfs/literature/dp/max-10/pcg-01018.pdf
it is not recommended to share VCCA and VCCIO1A/B as VCCA is powering analog part and is sensitive to noise.
Thanks.
