Max II Life cycle

Hi, 

 

We are using MAX II EPM240T100C3N device in our project and are considering using it in future projects. 

What is the Life cycle of this device?

Out of curiosity, why not go with a newer device? I found that older devices get more expensive over time and harder to find..
