Hi,
I am using Cyclone 10 FPGA of part number '10CL120YF484I7G' and Quartus prime 23.1 standard tool.
I have a QSYS which uses NIOS II core. But I am getting below warning.
Warning: nios_mcu.nios2_mcu: Nios II cores are not recommended for new projects and are subject to removal in a future release. Nios V cores are the recommended replacement as applicable.
Could you please clarify, is it fine to go with nios II since i am using Cyclone 10 FPGA and Quartus prime 23.1 standard tool in my current project? or is there any expiry date for nios II processor depending on the FPGA variant and tool version we use? Please clarify on this.

The processor will work forever, but it's now been removed from all current versions of Quartus. It's really recommended to move to Nios V. There's training on doing this: https://learning.intel.com/Developer/learn/courses/14481/niosr-ii-to-niosr-v-processors-migration

Hi
For the NiosII core, you are still able to continue using the NiosII in Quartus 23.1std.
Just do take note that it will be the last patch for the NiosII core, there will be no bug fix if there are any found.
You could ignore the warning, but it is recommended to migrate to NiosV.
