OFDM using the cyclone 3 starter kit

I have the cyclone 3 starter kit and would like to implement an OFDM transceiver with the capability of sending and receiving the data via a PC.

My initial thought was to connect the THDB-H2S HSMC to Santa-Cruz daughter card to accommodate an RS-232 connection to a PC, then somehow connect the OFDM output/input of the FPGA to the transmitter/receiver section (i.e., DAC, amplifier).

As you can tell, I am an absolute beginner but I do have over a year to complete this project. It is for research purposes initially, so all I require is a piece of hardware that gets the job done in the easiest, least time consuming way - at the moment, I feel confident with the actual OFDM programming and it is the interfacing that is confusing me. Any ideas?

you might want to use a JTAG UART or some kind of System Console set up to communicate with your PC over the USB Blaster.

then look at picking up the HSMC daughter card that comes with the CIII DSP kit as your DAC interface.
