Problem with Quartus II (Web edition) RTL simulation with Modelsim (student edition)

I recently installed both Quartus and Modelsim. The problem is, i'm unable to simulate with modelsim. After relentlessly browsing the web, i figured i need to choose modelsim as my simulator and output directory as > simulation/modelsim in the settings of the project.

I also came across the settings in the Tool menu. Tool>option>EDA too option>Modelsim-Altera. But the path is causing problem. I came across that we need to set it at -->c:\altera\12.1\modelsim_ase\win32aloem but i'm unable to find it...

Here's the snapshot when i run the rtl simulation

Please guide me with the process...

Thank you.

Obviously, you haven't installed ModelSim, else you would have a 'modelsim_ase' subdirectory.

If you effectively installed it, the path is easy to find:

assuming you are using windows

click Start

click All Programs

scroll to the folder named ModelSim or similar, click on it

then right-click on the Modelsim executable and select 'Open File Location' from the pop-up menu, a WIndows Explorer Window will open.

Right-click in the address-filed of that window explorer window and select Copy Address from the pop-up.

Paste that in the appropriate place in Quartus' Assignments->Settings->Eda Tool Settings.

I gather somebody else will help you with Linux, if that is what you are using.
